We’ve been at it for about a month now, using every spare minute to work on the renovation of our NEW SHOWROOM!
For those of you who have been to our studio, I’m sure that the old vinyl yellow wallpaper didn’t instill much confidence in our design advice. Thankfully the wallpaper has been replaced by fresh white walls, the old flood tiles pulled up, the drop ceiling is gone, and what was once 2 tiny rooms is now one large-ish open space.

We are now hard at work furnishing the space with our own designs. These include a curtain wall, chalk board surround, design table, and custom desk, as well as display areas for our new line of furniture.

“THE WALL!” as we have been calling her at the shop, was installed a few weeks ago at a house in the Marda Loop area. This was such a fun and stimulating project for 2Stone. Just goes to show you, concrete is the solution to every design challenge. I hope to swing by the house again before the snow flies to take some final photos and will post them ASAP.

Well those pieces that we had craned up to the myCasel project are now in place and looking amazing. Talk about a 2Stone condo, there are concrete kitchen countertop, a massive concrete fireplace surround, and both bathrooms have concrete vanities!
The condo is now complete and on the market for sale. They are having an open house this week Friday November 4 from 5-9pm and Sunday November 6 from 2-6pm. Stop by the check out some amazing craftsman ship throught out, the worlds coolest custom built in cappacino machine, and jaw dropping views.

Come down to the Round-Up Center this Wednesday September 26 from 4pm-8pm for the “Urban Encounters -Table Top Trade Show”. Come check out what’s new at 2Stone Designer Concrete and enjoy some refreshments and hors d’oeuvres! we will be showing some of our new furniture line as well as some classic 2Stone spunk. If you are able to attend it would be great to see you there, we will be in display # 65.
The great Tommy T. Cooke AKA “The Traveling Concrete Gnome” pulled into Calgary last Wednesday to begin set up forhis next class hosted by the team here at 2Stone. He is currently traveling across the US and Canada teaching GFRC classes.
Tommy parked his RV behind the shop and quickly starting getting his hand into some mud and play time. The course was a 4 day intensive training course held over the July long weekend. It covered everything from GFRC spray up, Rapid Set, Acid Stains, and beyond. Student came from BC, Oregon and Ontario to pick Tommy’s brain.
It was so much fun! Thanks to all the great guys that came we had a blast. And a BIG thanks to Tommy for all of the laughs and new tricks, it was wonderful getting to know you and hopefully you will come back soon. Work seems so tame without you!

The 2Stone team is breathing a collective sigh of relief after
our big install last week! Located on 17th Ave SW, “Casel” is a beautiful
new condo building that we were lucky to get some work into.
(Apparently Justin felt it was too hot to crate the pieces while wearing pants….)

Our good friend
Max is the owner of one of the condos and has beyond succeeded at turning it
into a true luxury condo with a breath taking view of the Calgary downtown
skyline. We had to crane the kitchen island, countertops and fireplace up to the
8th floor through the balcony door.
I get nauseous just looking at
the photos! Stay tuned to see more photos of the project as if nears
completions.
